How to find your confidence and keep it?
Everyone admires a self-confident person, we may even envy them because they seem so at ease with themselves.
Self-confidence is vital in almost every aspect of our lives, yet many people struggle to find it. Sadly, this can be a vicious cycle

Confidence and courage walk hand in hand
For me, confidence is the ability to do what we want to do, in a way we want to do it. And not let fear or doubt or self-esteem interfere with that.
I also believe courage and confidence have a lot of shared characteristics and you can’t get to confidence without courage. Courage allows you to take the first step and that first step gives you the confidence. Confidence grows once you actually do something.
Recognize the signs that you lack confidence:
- You spend more time thinking about what you »would like to do«, rather than actually trying to do it
- You don’t do something, because you’re scared of failing or scared of feeling rejected
- You’re tearing yourself down and beating yourself up a lot
- You always have an excuse why you don’t keep your commitments and you don’t hold yourself accountable
- You compare yourself to others, and then you see yourself as coming up short
- You never feel that you’re good enough
Three steps to Confidence
Start now and claim back your confidence:
- Take action!
Do it! Confidence comes from actually taking action. So stop thinking about it, worrying about it, stop criticizing yourself about it and don’t feel like you’re not good enough. Stop the judging! Just do it.
Confidence comes by taking action, and not judging yourself over it. Nobody’s perfect and you shouldn’t expect yourself to be perfect.
Nobody else expects you to be perfect and nobody out there is perfect, I can tell you that.
You need to accept YOU for who you are, for where you are in your journey, and for what you have to offer right now. Acceptance is the first step in cultivating the mindset that allows you to carry out the action and not judge yourself. By doing actions, you gain confidence.
3. What other people think of you is none of your business!
What other people think of you is none of your business! Read that again. You can only compare yourself to you. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday. Keep making tiny improvements every day.
Confidence comes from doing something without judgment, without worrying about what other people think or say. By accepting who you are, and working towards becoming the best version of you that you can be.
Look in the mirror, stare yourself in the eyes, and figure out what makes you special, what makes you unique, what you do well, and then go and do it.
